- ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
- 1. Admissions Application to the University (form attached in the admissions package)
- 2. Official transcript of all college work sent directly to the Anesthesia Program.
- 3. Possess a baccalaureate in nursing from an accredited university
- 4. Evidence of Chemistry course with lab. with a C grade or more
- 5. Have a minimum academic index of 3.00 in the last 60 credits of academic work
- 6. Resume of professional and education experience
- 7. Minimum one (1) year experience as an RN in critical care setting (letter from Human
- Resources from where you work)
- 8. Send two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals who have supervised the
- candidate in the work setting (form attached in the admissions package)
- 9. Current membership of the College of Nursing Professionals of Puerto Rico (CPEPR)
- 10. Copy of current RN license in PR
- 11. Health certificate from Puerto Rico
- 12. Titles of Hepatitis B
- 13. Titles of Varicella vaccine
- 14. Flu shot
- 15. COVID-19 vaccine
- 16. Certificate of no penal record (background check) from USA (issued by the Police
- Department) and PR (issued by the Police Department) from last 6 months.
- 17. Clinical experience questionnaire (attached in the admissions package)
- 18. Evidence of intensive care certification
- 19. CPR, ACLS and PALS certification
- 20. Copy of Social Security card
- 21. Demonstrate language proficiency (written and oral) in Spanish and English
- 22. Admissions fee ($75.00) complete the credit card payment authorization (attached
- in the admissions package)
- 23. Student cannot work
- 24. Photo ID (driver’s license or passport)25. Etnia, race and gender form and W9s form (attached in the admissions package)
- 26. Negative certification of Law 300 of September 2, 1999 (law from Puerto Rico) which is issued by the Puerto Rico Health Department
Must also transfer RN license to PR

| Howard: Enclose the admission requirements for US residents. If you plan to apply for the 2026 cohort, in December 2025 you will send an email at pacaba@arecibo.inter.edurequesting the admission packet for Anesthesia and indicate your place of residence. It is important that you have at least 1 year of work experience in intensive care (adult, pediatric or neonatal) and have certification in critical care; no other work area is accepted. It is also important that you request the endorsement of your USA RN license for Puerto Rico; you must have a Puerto Rico RN license. You will do these processes with the Puerto Rico Nursing Board. Lizmarie Santiago-phone number: (787) 248-1115 Classes begin in August 2026 but the deadline to submit ALL admission requirements is March 15, 2026. The DNAP lasts three (3) years, including Summers. It is offered per semester, in person, and courses are taught daytime and Saturdays.
